1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to The Affiliate Catalyst ("we," "us," or "our"), a fractional partnership management consultancy incorporated in Ontario, Canada. Our website is located at theaffiliatecatalyst.com.

We provide services to associations and buying groups primarily in Canada and the United States. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with our website and the enquiry form located at theaffiliatecatalyst.com/contact.

We are committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information only when you voluntarily submit it through our contact form. The information collected includes:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Organisation name (your association or buying group)
  • Nature of your enquiry (selected from a menu)
  • A free-text message describing your affiliate programme (optional)

We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or any other passive data collection technology on this website. We do not collect IP addresses, device identifiers, or browsing behaviour.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you submit solely for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiry personally, typically within 48 hours
  • To assess whether there is a genuine fit between your organisation's needs and our services
  • To schedule and conduct a discovery call if you choose to proceed
  • To fulfil any subsequent engagement, if one is agreed

We do not use your information for marketing, advertising, profiling, or any automated decision-making. We will not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers

We use Netlify, Inc. (a US-based platform) to host this website and to receive form submissions. When you submit the contact form, your data is transmitted to and temporarily processed by Netlify's servers in accordance with Netlify's Privacy Policy. Netlify acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually obligated to handle your data securely and only as directed by us.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or where we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, personal information held by us may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you by email and/or a prominent notice on this website before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Retention

We retain enquiry information for as long as necessary to respond to your enquiry and, where an engagement results, for the duration of that engagement plus seven (7) years thereafter, consistent with standard business record-keeping requirements under Ontario law.

If no engagement results from your enquiry, we will retain your contact information for no longer than two (2) years from the date of your last communication with us, after which it will be securely deleted.

You may request deletion of your information at any time — see Section 7 below.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, use, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Secure hosting via Netlify with industry-standard protections
  • Limiting access to personal information to individuals who need it to respond to your enquiry

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdraw consent to our use of your personal information (subject to legal or contractual restrictions)
  • Request deletion of your personal information, where there is no legitimate legal basis for us to retain it
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at admin@theaffiliatecatalyst.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Third-Party Services

This website loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). When your browser requests these fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information. We have no control over Google's data practices. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Other than Netlify (our form processor) and Google Fonts, we do not use any third-party services, trackers, analytics platforms, or advertising networks on this website.

9. International Visitors

This website is operated from Ontario, Canada and is primarily intended for associations and buying groups based in Canada and the United States. By submitting the contact form, you consent to your information being processed in Canada and, via Netlify, potentially in the United States.

If you are accessing this website from outside Canada or the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of your country of residence.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Your continued use of this website following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
